ETEC 3003 - Applied Fluid Mechanics Prerequisites: ETEC 2003 or ENGR 2143 . Corequisites: ETEC 3003. This course covers the basic principles of statics and dynamics of fluid and fluid flow systems. The properties of fluids, flow measurement devices, Bernoulli’s equation, boundary layer theory, concepts of laminar and turbulent flows, Reynolds number, major and minor losses in a pipe flow system, open channel flow, pump characteristics, pump selection and application and concepts of flow measurement devices will be discussed. As needed.
