ETEC 2003 - Applied Statics Prerequisites: MATH 2124 or MATH 1525 , and PHYS 2003 and PHYS 2001 or PHYS 2203 and PHYS 2201 . This course covers the basic principles of statics on particles and on rigid bodies. Equilibrium systems including both forces and moments will be discussed. Truss analysis including joint method and section method will be covered in detail. Shear force and bending moment diagram and the relationship among distributed loading, shear force, and bending moment will be discussed. Dry friction, finding area and volume center, and moment of inertia will be also discussed. Fall.
