ENGL 3193 - Spanish American Literature II Prerequisites: SPAN 2043 or instructor permission. A continuation of SPAN 3183 , covering major literary movements in Latin America from the 1820s to the present. Through the study of poetry and prose, students will be exposed to the social, artistic, and historical aspects of Latin America that these works evoke. The works of such authors a Jorge Luis Borges, Laura Esquivel, Gabriel Garcia-Marquez, Rosario Fere, Alejo Carpentier, Carlos Fuentes, and others will be examined in the course. This course is cross-listed with SPAN 3193. As needed.
