Secondary Education, ASE Plan of Study
The Associate of Science in Education - Secondary Education presents core knowledge of the education profession by combining content and pedagogical knowledge. Pre-candidates demonstrate a basic understanding of the teaching profession and student learning. The program emphasizes the uniqueness of each student, recognizing that children are best understood in the context of family, culture, society, and environment. The Associate of Science in Education prepares pre-candidates to work in schools as paraprofessionals or to continue to obtain their Bachelor’s degree. To obtain an Associate of Science in Education - Secondary Education, the student must earn at least a grade point average of 2.70 on all University credits, and complete the required curriculum (major courses with a C or higher). Students earning an AS will complete 61 hours that include the following requirements.
