PH 2003 - Foundations of Public Health
Introduction to the field of public health, including its historical evolution, fundamental concepts, theories and practices in the United States, and its central values and ethical principles. In order for students to comprehend the magnitude of complex factors impacting health and the tools available to protect and promote health, specific topics will include the structure of the U.S. public health system, the CDC’s 10 Essential Public Health Services, and the five public health core knowledge areas defined by the Council on Education for Public Health.
