A study of diction as it relates to the art of singing vocal literature in Italian and English. Students will learn the anatomical structure and appropriate use of the articulatory mechanism, vowel positioning, IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) symbols, and transcription guidelines for Italian and English texts selected from solo vocal and choral literature.
