ETEC 3023 - Computer-Aided Design and Analysis Prerequisites: ETEC 2033 . The focus of this course is to predict how a product behaves under a real-life force. This course will demonstrate how to use finite element methods to calculate stress, strain, and deformation when a load is applied. 3D modeling, mesh generation, applying material, constraints, and loads will be covered in this course. Students will also learn how to do post processing such as plotting the stress and deformation and obtaining the factor of safety from the analysis. Students will gain practical experience with several projects. As needed.
