Art and Design: Pre-Art Therapy, BFA Degree Plan
“Art Therapy is an integrative mental health and human services profession that enriches the lives of individuals, families, and communities through active art-making, creative process, applied psychological theory, and human experience within a psychotherapeutic relationship.” (American Art Therapy Association, 2010)
This 120 credit hour undergraduate program is a collaboration between the Department of Art and Design and the Behavioral and Social Sciences Department. This program would serve as a preparatory program for those seeking admittance to a master’s program in Art Therapy as determined by the American Art Therapy Association (AATA) or alternately, a masters in counseling or related fields with an emphasis in art therapy.
