CHEG 4033 - Process Control

Prerequisites: CHEG 2053
Corequisites: MATH 3033
Understanding the basics of process control and operation is vital for the proper operation and the safety of chemical processes. This course provides students with the necessary knowledge on process dynamics, mathematical modeling of chemical processes, Laplace transform, transfer function models, feedback controllers, control system instrumentation, controllers tuning, dynamic behavior and stability of control systems, frequency response analysis and control system design, feedforward and ratio control, and Piping and Instrumentation Diagram. The acquired knowledge can be applied to different engineering systems involved in chemical, petrochemical, petroleum, biochemical, pharmaceutical, food, and mineral industries. As needed.
