This 12-hour graduate certificate is for students who have earned a master’s degree in school counseling or clinical mental health counseling and are seeking additional courses for add-on licensure. Applicants should work with their home state licensing board and their advisor to determine which courses are necessary to earn counseling licensure in their home state based on state regulations and prior coursework.

Students who are seeking over 12 hours of coursework should meet with their advisor to determine if seeking a master’s degree would be a better option. Permission to pursue more than 12 hours of coursework is subject to review and is at the sole discretion of counseling faculty review.
