PA 6293 - Global and Comparative Public Administration A survey of information technologies that are being utilized by citizens, cities, states, and national/federal institutions. Analysis of tools and technologies that are being newly adopted. Discussions concerning about globalization and the increasing interconnectedness of society will be analyzed alongside the potential limitations of US PA programs. Subsequent discussions will look at the size and scope of bureaucracies in other developed democracies with an additional focus on bureaucracies in developing democracies. The final half of class will analyze modern approaches to public service and accountability and technological advancements adopted by governments around the globe. Alternate summers.
