NURS 3103 - Gerontological Nursing


Prerequisites: Junior standing and admission to the Nursing program.
Nursing principles relevant to the care of the geriatric client are introduced. The physiological, sociological, and psychological responses to aging are addressed. The role of the nurse as provider of care and interdisciplinary team member are emphasized as related to care of the older adult in a variety of settings. Nursing process serves as the basis for delivery of care to the aging population. Fall, spring.
