COUN 6533 - Relationally Oriented Evidence Informed Counseling


Prerequisites: COUN 6403 , COUN 6413 , COUN 6423 , COUN 6433 , and COUN 6443 
This course serves as a bridge between scientific research and counseling practice by focusing on developing relationally oriented evidence informed counseling professionals who have the needed evidence-based knowledge and skills to provide culturally sensitive, ethical, and competent counseling to diverse populations of individuals, groups, and families in a variety of settings. Guided by our ethical “responsibility to the public to engage in counseling practices that are based on rigorous research methodologies” (ACA), this course will teach participants how to use scientific research to integrate common therapeutic factors and evidence-based counseling treatments into a relationally oriented evidence informed counseling approach.
